The cover of the 9th edition of MODEM DESIGN MILANO 2012 was designed by Ich&Kar
Helena Ichbiah and Piotr Karczewski opened their studio in 1992. She graduated from the ECV, and he from the Arts Decoratifs. The duo specialise in graphic design and have given birth to numerous creative projects from London to Mexico…
In the 1980’s, their graphic vision for the brands Xuly-Bet and Tati created a strong and efficient benchmark for the street culture of the time. They have the ability to work for clients at opposite ends of the fashion world… they interpret luxury with an inventive fresh look; a logo for Givenchy, Guy Laroche fashion show invitations, packaging for YSL… From Chanel and Arte Television to Etat libre d’Orange perfumes.
They have created Phosphowall a futuristic wallpaper and winner of the Wallpaper Lab. My Tree, an essential jewellery-holder. Organic vases, figurines, plates, cake boxes… Ich&Kar flit and flutter, everything they do is quite enchanting.
Their approach to global identity is respected and sought after around the world, in hotels, restaurants and bars. Candy colours for Troisgros in Roanne, Pop-up and vintage menu for Pierre Gagnaire’s Sketch. Classicism revisited for Hélène Darroze at the Connaught, Dictionary menu for Derrière in Paris. Visual Esperanto for Condesa of Hotel in Mexico, seaside identity for Monte- Carlo Beach.
Wherever and whenever Ich&Kar are involved, expect their signature offbeat vision, imagination and poetry.
Trendsetters, they were selected to design the brand identity of France Design “oh so frenchy”. Ich&Kar created a visual look and identity for the Milk Factory; where innovation and communication are part of a strategy to promote milk products.
Their recent work includes a series called ‘Pièces montée consisting of cheese sculptures.
