This season, for the Modem cover & dividers we gave a carte blanche to the 1943 American born artist Hilton McConnico, gets his inspiration from Mother Nature. He creates a magical & poetic world that can be found in his work.
Since 1965, he's been living and working in Paris. After being a fashion designer for some years with Yves St Laurent & Ted Lapidus, he satarted working for thie movie industry.
He created about 20 film sets including Vivement Dimanche" by François Truffaut. In 1983, he has awarded with the french Oscar for best film set for La lune dans le Caniveau by Jean-Jacques Beineix.
His scenographies brought him international fame. For Hermès, amongst others, he conceived the exhibition on the silk square presented on 1000 sq. meters in Hong Kong & Shanghaï (2007). In 2006, he also signed the interior design of Hermès flagships in Tokyo (architect Renzo Piano) & Seoul (architect Réna Dumas).
He has been awarded many times for his design creations now present in many museums' collections like Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Oslo, New York and Lausanne.
