Their juxtaposition and inter-relationship with leading historical and contemporary ideas illustrates and explains the complex and multi-layered developments of urban development. Exhibits span the years from the garden city at the beginning of the 20th century through the city landscape concepts of the early post-war period to today's urban landscapes, from the idea of the functional city in early modern times to the patchwork city with functional zones, or from the leading ideas of a mobile city to a modern »telepolis«.
