Main exhibition from the 20th of September. SAUMA presents innovative contemporary design by some of Finland’s new designers.

The products in the exhibition were developed by designers who were asked to create the best possible approaches to contemporary design products. By combining experiences from Finland’s long-standing design tradition with experimental innovation, the designers have created new, contemporary designs that meet today’s demands for mobility, flexibility and individualism.
The exhibition highlights innovation and presents brand-new examples of user-driven and user-friendly design. The exhibition features experimental product designs with examples of the portable, the sensory and the structural aspects of the ways we navigate our environment.
The exhibition has been produced by the Finnish Culture Institute in New York. The curators are Industrial Designer Hannu Kähönen and Professor of Physical Computing Marko Tandefelt. The exhibition architect is Harri Koskinen, and the exhibition’s graphic design is by Aimo Katajamäki.
