The great modernisation projects of 19th century Paris left many plans unrealised, but which still influenced the architectural development of the capital. This display of drawings from the Musée d'Orsay collections presents projects put forward for public buildings (Sorbonne, Caserne des Célestins, Opéra Comique and Grand Palais) and urban planning (Tuileries, Place de la Concorde and Ile de la Cité).
