Arpenteur started in 2011, launched by Marc and Laurent, two cousins with a passion for clothes. There were many things that they found inspiring in France and in their local textile culture from the past and present. They wanted to make clothing that blend elements from that culture and their own design ideas.

ARPENTEUR believe in the value of a well made piece of clothing. We think that it can only be achieved by having a close work relationship with the people who actually make the product. We spend a lot of time exchanging views with them. This is the main reason why we choose to have all of our products and the largest part of our fabrics made in France, only an hour away from our office.

We are two at Arpenteur (Marc and Laurent). Neither us or our families were in the clothing business. We had completely different jobs before we started the brand, but our interest in high quality garments is very old: little by little we started to collect French vintage pieces, and tried to understand how they were made.

We realised the high quality standard of these past years had disappeared from all contemporary French casual and sportswear brands, so we decided to create our own!
