Both ethnic and multi-cultural at once, Jahaanara is a reflection of its founder, Geeta Kalwani.
Born and raised in Liberia, Geeta holds a Double Msters degree in Public Affairs from the prestigious Sciences-Po, Paris and a Masters in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School, Singapore. Young, dynamic and seeking to 'sail beoynd the sunset', she has travelled extensively and speaks seven languages. A member of Mensa, Geeta currenly lives in the UAS where she is dedicated full time to the operation and expansion of the Jahaanara while pursuing her equestrian and fine art hobbies.
With a strong belief that a girl makes a society, Geeta uses part proceeds of Jahaanara's sales toward educating the girl-child in developing countries. Proceeds also go to the many disabled artists involved in the creating and embellishing of Jahaanara Jeans.
