Biography

UNRAVEL 19022010 came about after the encounter between the entrepreneur Margherita Brazzale and the designer Giuseppe Fanelli. The brand was founded in February, 2009 as noted on the logo.

Giuseppe Fanelli was born in 1976. He graduated at the Academy of Fashion and Costume Design in Rome in 2001 and put on his first fashion show in the same year. Since then he has worked with numerous leading figures in the design industry including Sophia Kokosalaki (2006-2009), Antonio Marras, Kenzo, Les Copains (2002-2007) and Alberta Ferretti (2001). At present he is collaborating with Kristina Ti and has dedicated his first personal collection to UNRAVEL 19022010.

Constantly drawing inspiration from cinema, music and photography Giuseppe Fanelli presents the UNRAVEL 19022010 spring/summer 2011 collection as deliberately minimal and “unravelled”, offering the public sculptured yet versatile clothes which are almost indefinable; absolute and unreserved, almost fierce. The garments have been created with a dual use in mind such as multi-functional sweaters or trousers made by joining two identical parts and the line comes in black or pastel rose. This collection is the fruit of a carefully thought of union between each element and its opposite. The garments are both hard and tender thereby bringing life to any individual, in short, indulgent.
