Large museum hall, galleries, industrial wasteland, provinces and capitals, since 1982, Claude Levêque’ s installations have been investing spaces and creating artistic environments or jostling with dreams, marvels, references to childhood and violence of men. Works that create a “tension between softness and violence, dream and terror, black and light, worries, constraints and effects of mirrors”. The artist favors work in situ, although he has often worked on the field of objects, his choices are directed towards the creation of spaces and atmospheres. “I play on form and its impact, to seduce, attract and repel, putting people in ambush. I start from a collective story to which I associate an autobiographical universe. Experimentation exists only in relation with environments, publics, to find a possible communication. I find the world scary of violence, social, economic, not to mention the hysteria of war ... “ Chosen to represent France at the 53rd Venice Art Biennale in 2009, Claude Lévêque was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris , at the PS1 Museum, New York, at the Solomon R.
