34 Fabien Verschaere, born in 1975 in Vincennes, France, lives and works in Paris. Graduated in 2000 at the National High School of Fine Arts in Paris and earned the Master at the Nantes School of Fine Arts in 2002. During his childhood, marked by long periods spent in the hospital, he becomes aware of his physical diversity and of the isolation condition he lives in finding shelter in drawing developing a passion for watercolor technique. Already at this time immersed in reading comics, he begins to develop a fantasmagorical imagination in which the dreams of a child and the world of fairy tales coexist. Thanks to the drowing, he created a tailor-made world that makes him escape from the demons of the disease and the violence that he felt in the eyes of others. He finds inspiration in the comics universe and in the rock music imagination to tackle a fight in which the only weapon used is sensitivity. The artist works starting from his own body, staging his complexes and ghosts, becoming the protagonist of his works. His savoir faire allows him to use virtually different media, from drawing to object, from video to installation to immerse yourself in its fantastic, hallucina- ting, sardonic, disturbing, macabre, colorful ... and seductive universe. His works, the personal saga that presents us, question the value of the symbol and identity that can convey our image when reflected in the eyes of others.
