9 JOURNALIST Anna Piaggi (22 March 1931 – 7 August 2012) was a fashion writer and style icon known for her eccentric style that mixed vintage and contemporary fashion. She worked as a translator for the Italian publishing company Mondadori, then wrote for magazines such as the Italian edition of Vogue, Vanity, l’Espresso, Panorama and Arianna . From 1988 she designed “ Doppie Pagine ” (double page spread) in the Italian Vogue, where to her artistic vision was given free expression in collages of words, ideas and images that illustrate the connections between the most diverse stylistic creations. In 2006 the Victoria and Albert Museum dedicated to her the exhibition “ Anna Piaggi: Fashion-ology ” curated by Judith Clark in witch was showcased her collection of vintage couture and designer clothing. Her way of living fashion out of the charts was also celebrated by the director Alina Marazzi in the documentary “Anna Piaggi. Una visionaria della moda ”. On the occasion of this edition Anna Piaggi , designed for Modem an exhibition of images over the eleven pages of the guide. These photographs, taken by Bardo Fabiani, are a tribute to the great fashion designers who marked the decades of the last century by valuing the hat as an aesthetic symbol. These images reveal eleven exclusive creations, realized by the stylist Stephen Jones with the collaborative accomplice of Anna Piaggi.
