Scott Sternberg from Band of Outsiders and Kate and Laura Mulleavy from Rodarte will be the guests of honor from June 14. to 17, 2011.

Band of Outsiders will be invited at Pitti Uomo but it is a premiere for Pitti Woman precollection to welcome the very in vogue Rodarte Sisters, who launched their brand in 2005. Since then, they won numerous awards and accolades, and they are particularly popular these days, notably for their recent work in Black Swan.

Over the last few seasons, these two brands have captured the attention of the international fashion community. According to Lapo Cianchi, the director of communication and events by Pitti Imagine “Rodarte and Band of Outsiders are very different design talents”, but they both connect us to the mythology of Western America” (Los Angeles, film, California’s endless highways…). The European curiosity about California played an important role in Pitti’s decision to invite both designers to Florence at the same time.
