Festival
The 4th edition of the fashion film festival, organised by Diane Pernet, is being held at Beaubourg from October 7 to 9, 2011.
Inaugurated in 2008, in Paris, ASVOFF - A Shaded View On Fashion Film - has grown in size and reputation since. It was founded and organised by Diane Pernet, an incomparable figure of the fashion scene, New York journalist, alternative blogger... Every year, the festival brings together significant personalities from the worlds of fashion and cinema, such as Hussein Chalayan, Rodarte, Givenchy, Tilda Swinton, Dita Von Teese... It takes place in different museums across the world, (The Barbican in London, The Guggenheim in New York,...) or at international events (Cannes Film Festival)...
This year, the weekend of October 8 and 9, Rossy de Palma, Daphne Guinness, Peter Knapp, Ellen von Unwerth, Rosey Chan & Zack Winokur and Sullom Voe… come together at the Centre Pompidou for numerous films, shorts, documentaries, conferences and installations}} linked to fashion.
Some of the films shown over the weekend are in the running for prizes. The jury is made up of 20 fashion, cinema and journalism personalities. Among them: journalist and critic, Elisabeth Quinn, actress, Rossy de Palma, style icon, Daphne Guiness, editor in chief for Condé Nast Digital, Joseph Ghosn and photographer, Rebecca Blake.
The ASVOFF 2012 festival runs from Saturday 8 until Sunday 9 October, 2011 in the Petite Salle (free entry) and Cinema 2 (entry: 6 Euros).

The event's last festivity, « ASVOFF ART » engages in the festival's tradition of honoring and awarding the bold creator. Curator, Konstantinos Menelaou presents an unseen video, the result of a collaboration between three experimental artists - Sergio Cruz, Kathryn Ferguson and Socrates Mitsios & Actually Huizenga – and three forerunning fashion designers: Alex Noble, Charlie Le Mindu et Simon Preen.
