Sustainability is a topic that is being discussed often in the fashion industry today — Style.com has recently opened a new Earth to Fashion section, while Business of Fashion celebrates its newly launched BoF Voices, a platform that will discuss a wide range of issues, from sustainability and the human cost of fashion's supply chains, in the upcoming weeks.

Needless to say, the annual event Fashion Revolution Day draws attention to sustainability more than ever before. Fashion Revolution is in fact a a global movement that wants to spread awareness about the necessity of developing a sustainable, human- and animal-friendly fashion and textile industry. The annual date - April 24th - was selected in order to commemorate the 2013 factory disaster in Bangladesh, in which 1,133 people were killed and over 2,500 injured.

Therefore, on April 24th, Fashion Revolution will highlight sustainability worldwide via a range of global events, including workshops, conferences, exhibition tours, pop-up shops, and further initiatives, that all celebrate sustainable and human friendly fashion worldwide.

In addition of its 2015 event, the organizers announced the launch of ‪#‎tracemyfashion‬, a traceability initiative set up by Fashion Revolution Bangladesh to find out who actually made the ‬clothes that consumers buy.

Be part of the Fashion Revolution Day and participate in the organization’s worldwide activities.
