Business of Design, the design-oriented seminar made in South Africa, celebrates its second edition with a 2-day event to be held in Cape Town on May 20th and 21st, and in Johannesburg on May 26th and 27th, 2015.

The design industry is one of the fastest growing communities in the creative sector, with many emerging talents, who have learned and developed creative skills, but have limited knowledge and little experience in how to run a business. This fact actually pushed Julian McGowan to found Business of Design — an initiative in partnership with Sage Pastel, which aims to inspire and connect business owners, recent graduates and students through a program of workshops, conferences and think-tanks, that offer practical tools to improve and innovate their approach to the design industry. In this context, Business of Design will feature several design experts, ranging from product and interior designers, to fashion creators and architects, such as Greg Truen, Julia Day, Haldane Martin and Bryan Ramkilawan, who will share their knowledge and experience with the audience. This year’s May seminar will also develop the learning gained from last year, with topics that include Pinnacle Points from Leading Fashion Careers, What Will I Find if I Google You and Managing and Building Your Networks, among many others.
