Matali Crasset just launched a new design project in support of French craftsmen, an initiative which focuses on preserving artisanal production techniques by contributing to the local economy in a smart and sustainable way.

The debut collection entitled We Trust in Wood, is the brainchild of Crasset and Philip Huet, a French artisan, in collaboration with other craftsmen of the Meuse department in France. The capsule collection includes seven wooden objects that pay homage to the unique textures of ash and sycamore trees that grow in the region. From the initial mood-boards to the finishings, everything has been developed on a local level. We Trust in Wood also expresses Crasset’s commitment to improve and develop Vent des Forêts, a rural art center, for which she designed tree forest houses for that evoke the beauty of nature and wilderness.

The collection We Trust in Wood is available on the green e-commerce site Crowdy House.
