Another artwork has been destroyed at the contemporary art center Izolyatsia in Donetsk, Ukraine. On June 22nd, DPR Militants blew up the installation by Pascale Marthine Tayou, created by the Cameroonian artist for the exhibition Where is the Time, and hosted by the art center and the Italian gallery Galleria Continua in 2012. The work titled ‘Make Up…Peace!’ represented a giant lipstick crowning a factory smokestack and was dedicated to the women of Donbass, which played a considerable role in the reconstruction of Donetsk after the war.

Since June 9, 2014, the territory has been controlled by pro-Russian mercenaries of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, who use the area for military training, detentions and executions, and as a warehouse for stolen cars. Throughout the year, the militants destroyed several artworks including Kader Attia’s 'Ce n'est rien…', Daniel Buren’s 'Dans les filets, la couleur' and 'Cabane-Lanterne', as well as Leandro Erlich’s 'Invisible Train' , ‘Bank’, and ‘Moataz Nasr 'Tanoura’}}.

A video of the ‘Make Up…Peace!’ explosion has been shared on YouTube by the military group.
