Samuel Leuenberger has been appointed at the helm of Art Basel's Parcours, a sector of the fair that engages with Basel’s historical neighborhood through site-specific interventions, such as sculptures and performances, among others, by both renowned international artists and emerging talents.

After graduating from Sotheby’s Institute in London, Leuenberger has been working for commercial galleries, institutions, and non-profit organizations. Since 2009, the Basel-born independent curator has also been in charge of SALTS, a non-profit exhibition space in Birsfelden, which promotes emerging Swiss and international artists. In 2013, he was working as a co-curator for the Swiss Art Council Pro Helvetia, and in 2014, he was the associate curator of 14 Rooms, a major live-art exhibition by Fondation Beyeler, Art Basel and Theater Basel. “Having followed the program of Parcours over the last few years, I am excited to continue developing this amazing project of presenting art in public spaces," Leuenberger said in an official statement.
