[red]#FASHIONTECH BERLIN[/red] will be held on 4th July 2019 at FESTSAAL KREUZBERG.

#FASHIONTECH BERLIN, hold twice a year during Berlin Fashion Week, is the leading tech conference for the fashion industry, discussing topics around digital transformation and disruptive technologies.

Featuring keynote presentations from international experts on stage (#LISTEN!), interactive masterclasses to boost your specialist knowledge (#LEARN!) and the Exhibition Area, where visitors will be introduced to the latest developments, products and innovations on the market (#EXPERIENCE!), #FASHIONTECH Berlin has evolved to become a leading European content hub for technology, digitalisation, sustainability and innovation.

#FASHIONTECH BERLIN also creates the stage for interdisciplinary exchange between different industries. The networking areas give visitors the opportunity to network with the speakers, industry insiders and entrepreneurs, as well as to seek out new business partners and generate business leads (#BUSINESSS!).

[red]TOPICS OF OUR TIME IN THE ERA OF DIGITALISATION[/red]
Digitalisation affects every aspect of modern lifestyle. #FASHIONTECH BERLIN is looking into the latest trends that shape our lives. At this edition on 4 July 2019 #FASHIONTECH will introduce the audience to the following topics: Digital Business, Street Culture, Sustainable Future and E-Sports & Gaming in Fashion.

• DIGITAL BUSINESS
Digitalisation affects every step in the fashion industry’s supply chain: from production to marketing, communications and sales through to distribution and presentation in the stores or showrooms. To become a modern company, traditional brands need to rethink deep-rooted structures and question each and every process in order to optimise their value chain – and, where necessary and sensible – digital transformation is needed.

Many new companies do not even bother with the traditional ways. Right from the start, they establish their brands as digital first companies, exclusively din a digital way. With this, social media channels develop into sales channels completely bypassing the old sales structures.

Luisa Krogmann co-founded the “digital first” and “direct-to-consumer” footwear brand Aeyde: “There’s no doubt how much power Instagram holds – it has forced long-established industries like media and retail to shift and adapt their strategies. We are generating 40 per cent of our sales via this tool.”

• STREET CULTURE
The fashion and lifestyle industries are as concerned with digital transformation as other industries are. Initiated by the fast turnover of information through social media, trends quickly travel around the world. Consumers and their habits adapt at the same rapid speed. They expect all-round access everywhere, easy navigation and fast results, no matter the channel. Shopping habits of today are the precedent for this.

Especially, the urbanwear trend has grown to become one of the most important in the market. Influenced by American hip-hop and icons like Kanye West, Rihanna and Cardi B. etc., the look, which only attracted a niche audience at first, is now shaping the street styles of metropolises. Online media like Hypebeast and Highsnobiety are setting the right tone and now even sponsor the name of the trend, which is called the ‘Hypebeast Trend’.

By moving to Festsaal Kreuzberg, #FASHIONTECH BERLIN is therefore looking to move closer to SEEK, in terms of both geography and content.

This is precisely where the new app from Aaron Levant, NTWRK, comes in. The app makes it possible to find out about the latest styles and hot-off-the-press limited edition drops via videos from celebrities and styles icons – and to shop for the products directly. Means: the 'next level shopping experience' is video commerce.

• SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Mindful living doesn’t just mean looking after your own body. It’s about using resources judiciously and living in a way that respects the environment – people, animals and nature. While older generations are still learning that, this respect is an intrinsic need for Gen Z, and is being emphatically demanded by this generation. In line with the heightened interest there is also a desire for transparency, and thus a need for information and the corresponding products. Digital technologies play a crucial role here.

• E-SPORTS & GAMING IN FASHION
But fashion is only one aspect of the lifestyle culture, however. Always closely interwoven with other disciplines, such as art, beauty and music, new disciplines like gaming and mindful living are playing an increasingly important role. Especially when it comes to sport, attention is wandering from real life to gaming and e-sports, where the borders between the physical and digital worlds are becoming ever more indistinct. Anyone who thinks that e-battles only take place in digital spaces is sorely mistaken though. They are increasingly growing into real, large-scale events during which players, teams and fans meet together in mega stadiums.

Gaming and e-sports are the best examples of how offline and online can evolve into a modern lifestyle concept together – not only for the fans to have fun, but in the sense of having enormous commercial potential. The e- players are hailed as true stars, whose outfits provide the ideal advertising space for sponsors. This is the way to successfully monetise digital concepts. More and more brands are investing into e-sports & gaming to promote their brands in front of a huge audience.

Michael Stracke: “We have decided to move closer to SEEK, as by doing this we can group our PREMIUM Group events at two locations. This also makes it easier for attendees to PREMIUM Group events to drop in to #FASHIONTECH BERLIN as well. The SEEK brands in particular are extremely tech-savvy and open to digitalisation, which is why we will also be presenting some Best Cases from the streetwear area at our event.”
