SS2020 Shanghai Fashion Week kicks off

This year witnesses the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The theme of SS2020 Shanghai Fashion Week is ‘Multi-source Inspiration’ , enlightened by the fact that fast-growing technologies have enabled them to break through the limit of reality and enhance the perception of time.

They encourage multiple sources of inspiration to broaden their imagination while advocating group consciousness and synergistic effect. With 17 years of history and root in the city of Shanghai, Shanghai Fashion Week has been building a more open platform and exploring symbiotic channels to support talented designers and fashion brands through fashion showcase with subdivisions , tradeshow business, and diverse events.

The main runway at Xintiandi is welcoming a brand new upgrade. A “Fashion Water Cube” will rise up from the Taiping Lake Park. LABELHOOD, SIFS and KIDSWEAR will stage runway shows featuring different elements. Tradeshows such as MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show together with its 6 partner trade exhibitions will provide domestic and international market channels for exhibiting designer brands. Versatile fashion events including forum, fashion immersive showcase, and competition will also shine during the week.

The show schedule features China's commercial brands with Lily and designer brand Cabbeen as opening and closing shows. The shows and presentations by well acclaimed Chinese fashion brands and designers include XU ZHI, LEAF XIA, W.RONG, YES BY YESIR, YIRANTIAN, BAN XIAOXUE, C+ plus SERIES, AT-ONE-MENT by Wanbing Huang, ANIRAC, Zickness, AWAYLEE, HUI BY ERAN HUI, DANSHAN, XIMONLEE, STAFFONLY, JUDYHUA, FENG CHEN WANG, SWAYING, I-AM-CHEN, MING MA, MOTO GUO, YINGPEI STUDIO, OUDE WAAG, and SHUSHU/TONG. Brands such as Short Sentence, DAMOWANG, ORDINARY PEOPLE, NPC, FMACM, SHANGMUYE, WINDOWSEN, CORNERSTONE, SHUTING QIU, SONGTA, LUCENCY, SUPERR, YUEQI QI will be stars of new face to pay attention.

MODE Shanghai Fashion Tradeshow will celebrate its 5th Year Anniversary. During 11th to 14th October, a new exhibition space curated by the previous Pitti Uomo designer Oliviero Baldini will be established at Shanghai Mart. 27 innovative showroom exhibitors will come together with their trendy brand from all over the world. MODE Shanghai will join hands with other six major exhibitions, to upgrade "Asia's largest order season". ONTIMESHOW, Showroom Shanghai and DFO SHOWROOM, ALTER SHOWROOM, TUBE SHOWROOM, and not SHOWROOM, which already cooperated several times, will continue to come this year.

In addition, forums focusing on industry sustainable development will be a shining point during the Week including Kering's K Generation Forum and yehyehyeh's Shan Future Forum. These events are expected to boost innovation and arouse awareness of sustainable fashion. We hope that everyone can respect the environment and take social responsibility. Luxury brand MARNI will announce its collaboration with Chinese Miao ethnic minority which will debut its showcase next March in Beijing. Other events include immersive Chinese designers' showcase CLUB ADVENTURE and FUTURE UPON A TIME:An Immersive Fashion-Site. The Business of Fashion China Prize will showcase its documentary video as well. French designer brand KOCHÉ will preview its capsule collection with Premier League team WWFC. Final Award Ceremony Of 2019 International Model Contest will be announced who will be next generation of young talents of Chinese models.

Centering on fashion industry, other sectional events will take place in the downtown, bringing fashion to the public. The B2C event Shanghai Fashion Weekend will continue to make buzz during the weekend (18th-20th October) after the B2B parts of the fashion week.

In the future, Shanghai Fashion Week will continue to make improvements in pursuit of perfection, to build a more professional, authoritative and influential platform. They will gather works of high quality to show the energy of China’s design and the rising power of Asian fashion industry.
