The project co-signed by Zaha Hadid and Patrick Schumacher has won an international competition in June 2008.

The winding canyon access to the ancient city of Petra in Jordan inspired the agency Zaha Hadid Architects for the future House of Art and Culture of King Abdullah II, in a privileged location in downtown Amman.

It will include a cultural center and an auditorium of 1,600 seats, a 400-seat theater, an education center, rehearsal rooms and galleries.

Construction works are scheduled to begin in early 2012.
