Diagonales : sound, vibes and music in C.N.A.P. Collection. | Modem Mag

The objectif of Diagonales is the promotion and diffusion of the National Center of Fine Art collections on theme of sound and music. The event will take place in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

The event will unite twenty differents art institutions around a unique question : the relationship of sound and music with creation through a selection of works from 60's till nowadays.

Diagonales propose a geographical partition. For one year, the exhibitions will focus on differents aspects : the history of the collection with Max Neuhaus, the influence of John Cage in the declension of silence theme, the importance of John Giorno and Henri Chopin in sound poetry.

The event will also be an occasion to introduce themes such as the impact of rock counter-culture in Steven Parrino's and Christian Marclay's works, the evolution of sound art after Bernhard Leitner's studies, auto-genered systems by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot and Pascal Broccolichi.
