While waiting on his return to Versailles this fall where he will succeed Jeff Kooons and Xavier Veilhan, Takashi Murakami will be at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice to attend a significant dialogue together with Tsuji Nobuo, Japanese art historian and director of the Miho Museum in Shiga.

In the light of the works of art by the Francois Pinault Collection exposed at the Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, Murakami et Tsuji Nobuo, are holding for the first time for the European public a dialogue on the persistence of Japanese tradition in contemporary artistic production.

Murakami has created the aesthetic theory Superflat that blurs the boundaries between Western abstraction, traditional Japanese paintings and manga.

During the meeting with Takashi Murakami, Punta Della Dogana and Palazzo Grassi organizes from June 9 to 11 the "Murakami World" exhibition, devoted to the Japanese art.
