The Guggenheim museum collaborates with Youtube

The New York museum will select on YouTube the artists for its exhibition that will be held in October.

To fight the difficulties that young artists face to draw the attention of the prestigious art galleries, the Solomon R. Guggenheim foundation will take advantage of the Internet era to change the system rules.

In collaboration with YouTube, the foundation will launch the YouTube Play project that aim to discover new talents in video art. To participate, you will just need a video camera and a computer.

The videos can be submitted till July 31. A jury composed by professionals of video arts, film and music will pre-select 200 videos then 20. The winners will have the chance to exhibit first in the New York Museum, then in Berlin, Bilbao and Venice.
