Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) is considered to be one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Her original and complex as well as fascinating and diverse oeuvre will be presented in a major survey including 105 works covering the artist’s whole career stretching from the 1930s to 2009. Some of the works in the show have never been presented publicly before.

The exhibition includes sculptures, works on paper and textile works, aiming at showing the variety of materials and techniques the artist worked in. The exhibition is grouped into nine recurring themes relating to memories, trauma, relationships, sexuality, anxiety as well as the challenge of combining the roles of being a mother and an artist.
