Specialising in highly sophisticated woodworking, the Italian family-owned company Mattiazzi is in the process of redefining itself. The extended ‘family’ of internationally renowned designers such as Konstantin Grcic, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Jasper Morrison, Sam Hecht, and Nitzan Cohen have all contributed their designs and specific manufacturing knowledge to the company.

The product line of seating furniture is gradually being developed under the art direction of product designer Nitzan Cohen (Munich) and graphic designer Florian Lambl (Berlin).
Die Neue Sammlung recently added a group of Mattiazzi furniture to its holdings. Now, at the museum’s request, Nitzan Cohen is showing a selection of additional examples in the foyer of the permanent collection display. These choice works create a prelude to the planned exhibition series ‘Designers’ Choice’.
