The Large Drawings

Günther Förg liked to produce series of works based on a formal idea. From 1988 to 1990, he created a group of large vertical works on paper, each around 260 x 150 cm.

These works have a very subtle but very simple composition: two colour fields in confrontation. The finesse, the grace and the light touch of Günther Förg is here more visible than ever, capturing and holding in suspension this luminous and inspired “almost nothing”.
