Moroccan artist Yto Barrada is drawn to the narratives of the bandit, the magician, the underdog and the smuggler. Working across photography, film, sculpture, textile and installation, Barrada’s work explores the different strategies of resistance we employ to deal with everything from the mundanities of everyday life to shifts in power and migration. For spring 2018, Barbican Art Gallery has invited Barrada to create her first major London commission for the Curve.
