Curating the Collection

He analyses the visitor routing used in museums, and the way in which art is viewed and presented. He also examines the public's movements around, and the relationship between all the elements within, an exhibition space.

For Kunsthal Light #11, Time Hollander has gone through the components with which an exhibition is presented to the public with a fine-tooth comb. Hollander is not only the artist but also the curator that puts together an exhibition. Sorting through the Kunsthal's archives and storage areas, Hollander uncovers ‘hidden treasures'. With collages and floor plans, sketches and routing designs, and a composition made of Perspex covers, pedestals and different coloured paints, he has created a museum collection presentation for the ‘collection-less' Kunsthal. He has elevated the elements that usually play a supporting role to an artwork in themselves, thus laying bare the very infrastructure of an exhibition
