FDB’s design is not only the well-known furniture, but also for their posters, labels and packaging. As the furniture became commonplace, FDB also focused on the graphic design. With FDB’s 150th anniversary, Designmuseum Danmark will showcase a selection of posters and other graphic design elements in a small exhibition.

All Danes know of the Black Circle Coffee-woman and The Davre-girls. The exhibition displays these two along with a number of other landmark FDB posters, designed by Aage Hansen Sure, Maggie Baaring and Arne Unger Mann among others.

With their simple, functional and colourful design, FDB labels and packaging were innovative Danish commercial art in the first decades after World War 2.

The material is from the museum’s art collection and archives of Danish design.
