AN ARCHITECT OF WEST-GERMAN POST-WAR MODERNISM

Paul Schneider-Esleben was one of the principal architects to shape the post-war modernist era in Germany, as well as the construction of mega projects in concrete, high-tech architecture, and the modernization and expansion of existing structures

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth on 23 August 2015, the Architekturmuseum der TUM is devoting the first retrospective of Paul Schneider-Esleben’s work, featuring plans, sketches, and photos from his extensive estate. His life and work is presented in the wider context of modernist architecture in West Germany, which was both part of an international movement and simultaneously a response to a specifically German situation.
