The plant photography of university professor and amateur photographer Karl Blossfeldt (1865–1932) marks a milestone in the history of photography in the 20th century. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Blossfeldt’s birthday, the Ann and Jürgen Wilde Foundation and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich are honouring the artist with an exhibition dedicated to his life and work

Among its variety of holdings, the Ann and Jürgen Wilde Foundation houses a unique collection of Karl Blossfeldt’s original photographs, negatives, and documents. Approximately 100 photographs and a selection of large-scale work collages, documents, correspondence, drawings, etc. illuminate the
personality and work of Karl Blossfeldt, from his early training as a modeller and caster to his work as a teacher at the Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule in Berlin and his landmark 1928 publication Art Forms in Nature.
