This summer, the New Museum will present the first major New York exhibition of the work of German artist Albert Oehlen.
Surveying the past thirty years of his career and demonstrating his immeasurable influence on contemporary painting, Albert Oehlen: Home and Garden will comprise paintings, drawings, and prints from several of his most important bodies of work. In the 1970s, Oehlen studied in Hamburg with Sigmar Polke and joined the circle of artists associated with the painter Jörg Immendorff.
