The exhibition MaThinItaly - Mathematicians in Search of the Future will tell you how shapes and numbers help us understand and interpret the world in a deeper way and how mathematicians help us transform the world around us.

From ancient to modern times, the exhibition path touches on some breakthroughs of the history of mathematics: Pythagoras and the irrational numbers, Fibonacci and the golden ratio, Tartaglia and his famous triangle, Galileo, the first scientist who realised that nature is being written in mathematical characters, and Volterra, who laid the foundations for describing and understanding - with the same language - the complexity of ecological systems and that of human society. Last, but not least, Federigo Enriques outlined a new geometry, which was mainly sketched by abstract rules of thought.
