Continuing the ‘Gesture, and thought’ season initiated in 2013 at La Verrière – the Brussels art space of the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès - curator Guillaume Désanges invites artist Nil Yalter to present her first solo exhibition in Belgium.

Born to a Turkish family in Egypt, in 1938, and based in Paris since 1965, Nil Yalter is a pioneering, free-thinking, highly original artist driven by her strong commitment to social and political activism. Her hybrid oeuvre combines painting, drawing, photography, video and collage, with performance and installation.
For her solo exhibition at La Verrière, entitled 1973-2015, Nil Yalter has chosen to present an ensemble of works exploring nomadism and exile, from the iconic Topak Ev of 1973 to a new work created especially for the show, in 2015.

The exhibition ‘Nil Yalter 1973-2015’ is presented at La Verrière in association with 49 Nord 6 Est - Frac Lorraine - Metz, where the show will be staged in 2016.
