For S.M.A.K.'s 20th anniversary, the museum presented ‘The Collection (I): Highlights for a Future’ (16 March – 29 September 2019). The exhibition looks both at the present and the future, including well-known works as well as some recent addictions to the collection; sometimes creating surprising connections between the two.

Now, from 1 October to 3 November 2019, the public is still able to see around eighty works from the exhibition on the upper floor of the museum. Also the Broodthaerskabinet can be visited, however the ground floor is closed for the installation of two new exhibitions.
