Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) designed furniture for Danish homes. As a student of Kaare Klint’s, he continued the Danish tradition, achieving renewal by modifying historical furniture types.

His work as a furniture designer was driven by a strong social consciousness. In 1942 he became director of FDB’s furniture design department, and in the following years he created the now legendary series of People’s Furniture. Designmuseum Danmark celebrates the 100th anniversary of Børge’s birth with a small exhibition focusing on his social agenda.
