From the 4th of October 2019 until the 19th January 2020 Barbican Art Gallery will exhibit "Into the Night: Cabarets & Clubs in Modern Art".

The exhibition will lead the public through a journey into the world’s most iconic cabarets, cafés and clubs in modern art through the lens of pioneering artists. The electrifying history of cabarets, cafés and clubs in modern art across the world will be explored, from London to New York, Paris, Mexico City, Berlin, Vienna, and Ibadan. The time range spans from 1880s to the 1960s, celebrating the creativity of the spaces in which artists, performers, designers, musicians and writers congregated to push the boundaries of artistic expression.

The exposition includes over 300 works of art, many rarely seen in the UK, as well as life-size recreations of avant-garde spaces.
