Modem Women's Milano Spring-Summer 2019

Cover by Marie-Agnès Gillot

For this edition dedicated to Women’s Spring/Summer 2019 collections, Modem is giving “carte blanche” to Marie-Agnès Gillot, french dancer and choreographer.

« Elle danse Marie, elle danse. Elle adore quand ça balance... ».
(She dances Mary, she dances. She loves when it rocks ...)

This popular song could not be more right. Marie-Agnès Gillot is 8 years old when this song continues to pass on the radio. And for her, no doubt, in her little village near Caen, the blond singer wrote it for her. Dance as a spine beyond the bruised body. From the Dance School to her nomination as ‘Etoile’, she never stopped dancing:
- She dances on the stage of the Palais Garnier, of the Opera Bastille but also in the whole world.
- She dances with the greatest choreographers, from Rudolf Nureyev to Mats Ek, Carolyn Carlson to Benjamin Millepied, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui to Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker.
- She dances for fashion, photos, clips, TV shows with the most different brands and personalities (Celine or Repetto for fashion, Benjamin Biolay, Les Sœurs Labèque or Marianne Faithfull for music, Dominique Issermann, Sonia Sieff or Julien Vallon for the photos).
- And soon the dance for literature, cinema, song or theater.
A life of passion, a dream life, she a danced life.

Marie-Agnès Gillot is the Dance.
