ADIEU COLLECTION SS20

He would recreate shoes, Oh God! if only you’d wish! " The Cobbler - Poem by Stephane Mallarme The original idea was to start with the shoes we wore as teenagers. We wanted to give them a real nobility, focusing on minimalist design and quality : to make beautiful shoes on the basis of a simple and popular philosophy. Raymond Radiguet’s sentence extracted from “Devil in the Flesh”, "Purpose is nothing less like the things themselves that what is very close" illustrates this. The aim was to develop well designed shoes, well thought out, comfortable with a broad offe- ring of leathers. In 2012, true to Their style, melting precious “elegant” and bad boy, we are launching this shoe line romantically called ADIEU ... Based on a simple philosophy, ADIEU wishes to ennoble the history of popular and masculine shoe and offers its collections to men and women. A very special balance between the elegance of precise lines, minimalism and quality requi- rement and the audacity of a crepe sole with graphic welt. A wink to the 50’s for the look and to sneakers for the feel. ADIEU offers classic men shoes like the Derby, "TYPE 1" The archetype shoe, like all the other 4 models of the 1st winter 2012 collection : TYPE 2 (desert boots), TYPE 3 (zip boots shoes inspired from french priests shoes), TYPE 4 (the creepers), TYPE 5 (the loafer). These 1st five models are permanent, in black leather, alongside seasonal styles, always inspired of the 40/50/60/70’s years (zazous, mods, punks ...) Isabelle Guédon and Benjamin Caron know each other since their adolescence, when Benjamin was already drawing shoes. Benjamin has always observed and worn shoes of the english working class, made famous from the teddy boys to the most significant of the punk-rock scene of the 70s and 80s figures like John Lydon, Joe Strummer or Alan Vega among others. In the late 90’s, after learning of handshoemaking, he created his first collection of bro- thel handmade creepers shoes, sold exclusively at "Absynthe" in Paris. He then created a special collection for Dunhill concept store "Rue de la Paix." Isabelle worked in various Fashion Houses. Mainly being the right arm of Alber Elbaz at Guy Laroche and then at Yves Saint Laurent. She also spent time as a director of The Textile Design department at the High School of Decorative Arts of Paris. She brings the “parisian girl” spirit to the duo. A D I E U S . A .
