MODEM PARIS WOMEN'S Spring Summer 2013

Is it very difficult to face the loss of an eminent leading figure of fashion and creation like Anna Piaggi , without remembering with nostalgia and pride the moment in our history when we had the pleasure and privilege to share with her a creatively fullfilling project. In February 2001, when the first 21st century women collections were presented, we gave “carte blanche” to Anna Piaggi . We also dedicated our Modem Milan and Paris covers to her. We considered Anna Piaggi as one of the most representative personalities in the culture of 20th century fashion. The pertinence and attention in which Anna dedicated to the culture and creation of fashion in her professional activity brought her well deserved international fame. Through her undeniable spirit and character she became a worldwide fashion icon. Accepting our proposal, Anna Piaggi suggested that we do a very ambitious project: a virtual exhibition of 11 Modem dividers to celebrate the creations that marked each decade of the 20th century using the most representative accessories of her very peculiar style: hats! With the help of her friends, hat-maker Stephen Jones and photographer Bardo Fabiani , we realized a story about the history of hats in the twentieth century.
