Shop opening / Exhibition

Fendi invites design students to exhibit for the opening of their new London store.

The opening of the new Fendi store, located at 181/182 Sloane Street, will be celebrated on the 17th September 2011. For the occasion, the 420 square metre space will welcome emerging designers from the Royal College of Arts to conceive temporary window displays and to exhibit their creations and installations, realised with the help of artisanal technicians typical of the Fendi house. This project has been made possible under the aegis of the designer and RCA graduate, Simon Hasan, who has collaborated with the brand before.

This collaboration will witness the affinities which exist between the world of fashion and that of design - creativity, research, experimentation, heritage and innovation.

The students' works, on show from the 17th to the 25th September 2011 (at the same time as the London Design Festival 2011}, are objects which are both traditional and innovative, notably including appliqué worked leather.
