Reviewing SS14 with the Director of International Affairs (JFWO).

Dear Ms. Shinoda

This seasons Fashion Week, did you had a particular emphasize ? Any issue to highlight ? Or was there a certain leitmotif ?

We had MISSONI show as our opening ceremony. Which was the first time for us to have Italian big brand for our on-schedule show. We had also ‘’Tweed Run TOKYO ‘’ as our relative event on 14th Oct. which is official event of Tweed Run London. We had KISS band as our special VIP guest for 17th Oct. which joined ‘’Christian DADA’’ show.

What do you think about the growing numbers of Fashion Week's worldwide ? What does this evolution signifie to you ?

Each government recognizes today that Fashion is essential for further development of country economy. It is natural to invest in Fashion industry for each country. We willingly try to collaborate with each fashion week in the world !

How do you perceive the position of your city on the international fashion market ? What is the particularity of your city as fashion center ?

Regarding the number of designers and fashion boutiques, Japan is the No.1 in the world. We are so strong in material, retailers, street-fashion, and especially in Men's fashinon.

In your opinion, what is the impact of your Fashion Week? What is your contribution to contemporary fashion business ?

Still Japanese creators are not good at business towards overseas markets. We have to support them by appealing for overseas press and buyers. So still such organization is needed.

In near future, what will be the next steps, do you have foreseen any particular projects, in terms of expanding your field of activities ? What can we expect ?

Every year we think of different and new project in order to develop Japan Fashion Industry. We still have a lot of homeworks to try .

Thank you very much for your time and all answers.
