This year, the Venice Film Festival has signed an important message to push the Cinema to restart after the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Golden Lion of the Venice Film Festival 77th edition goes to Chloè Zhao, with its Nomadland.
Nomadland, which is based on Jessica Bruder’s 2017 book “Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century”, was filmed on a van and tells a story of a woman, Fern, interpreted by Francis McDormand, who hasn’t anything more than memories of her life and her marriage. The Van becomes her life and a declaration of self-journey.

Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa took "Best Director" prize for 'Wife of a spy,'
Rouhallah Zamani won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for a young actor for his performance in Iranian drama Sun Children, from Majid Majidi.

Chaitanya Tamhane won "Best Screenplay" winners for The Disciple, a look at a modern youth trying to excel in India’s traditional music scene.
Dear Comrades a black-and-white recreation of a 1962 Soviet massacre of striking factory workers, directed by Russian filmmaker Andrei Konchalovsky, took the Special Jury Prize.

Pierfrancesco Favino won the Volpi Cup as the best actor on Padrenostro, an autobiographical film directed by Claudio Noce. Vanessa Kirby has won the Volpi Cup as well for 'Pieces of a woman' directed by Kornel Mundruczo. Pietro Castellitto is awarded for a screenplay in the Horizons section.
