This private collection of contemporary art is located on two floors of a former factory building. Erika and Rolf Hoffmann, who previously lived in the Rheinland, renovated and remodeled the space in view of living and working with the artworks they had collected over the past thirty years.

In addition to works by established artists such as Lucio Fontana and Frank Stella, one can encounter paintings, sculptures, woodcuts, photographs, and videos by unknown artists from around the world. Both the selection and the installation reflect the collectors' personal tastes. Every summer, Erika Hoffmann changes the entire display, rotating the collection and shifting the works around to reveal new relationships and conflicts between works of different generations. This, she hopes, will inspire reflection on aesthetic and philosophical issues as well as social and political conditions; and encourage discussion among the visitors along with the young artist or art historian accompanying the group.
