Nationalmuseum is Sweden’s premier museum of art and design. The collections comprise older paintings, sculpture, drawings and graphic art, and applied art and design up to the present day. The museum aims to touch, enrich and engage, putting the visitor at the centre.
Nationalmuseum should be a meeting place for art, knowledge and experiences. It should presents the public with exciting offerings, rich art collections and relevant exhibitions. It manages and communicates a European cultural heritage extending from antiquity to the present day. Nationalmuseum is open to everyone and owned by everyone. Internally, it wishes to be a workplace that attracts and develops Sweden’s leading expertise in its field. Its aims to be an open organization in which people work together in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. Its goal is to be an organization that constantly develops in partnership with those around it.
