Designers label CHARI was founded in 2008 by a couple of young designers Maria Marnova (Russia) and Chris Kramer (USA). Maria is living and working in Saint-Petersbourg, Chris – in New York. The relation between the designers and the allusion that they are perfectly completing one each other in their creative tandem, are visible in the name of the label, because Chari is a combination of the names Chris & Mari.

Maria and Chris met and became friends 7 years ago in Japan where they were working as models. As Chris is speaking about the idea to create this brand together with Maria, it was evident as they were always able to create.

“We started from the design of our own image. Maria and me, we were always ready to cut the clothes in pieces and make fun before going to a party”, Chris tells. When answering on a question where everything started, Maria tells that the discussion of this subject is always resuming by banality that at a certain moment they just wanted a further development, they needed to design independently the image and to do the things they liked.

Pure lines and colours, feminine silhouette, fragile and sensual, ascetism of a colour range, precise minimalism of the cut, light life-affirming classics. No excess. CHARI style is somehow a paradox as CHARI is the union of two opposite halves.

The girl in CHARI dress is a setted personality, strong and goal oriented but having at the same time a feminine and romantic mind.
