This is the story of a baubles-and-bangles empire, ERICKSON BEAMON jewelry, founded and designed by Detroit natives Karen Erickson, Eric Erickson and Vicki Beamon.
Their Jewelry business was born out of necessity. While working with a designer for their premiere runway show, they knew they needed Jewelry. They strung crystals and beads on suede and launched one of the hippest Jewelry legends around. The Jewelry took off and necessity quickly turned into great succes. That was over two decades ago.
Erickson Beamon Jewelry has continued to dazzle worldwide, pioneering the coveted, handcrafted beaded necklaces that have become their trademark. Artisans sit before trays filled with the tiniest of crystals and semi-precious stones and meticulously assemble each piece by hand. No other Jewelry company is as closely linked with the fashion runways as this creative team, who has designed custom pieces for Givenchy, Dio, Chanel, Anna Sui and Ungaro. "We can do anything a designer asks for", says Karen Erickson.
Continued success has allowed Erickson BEamon to expand internationally with a division in London, headed by partner Vicki Beamon. Based on London's Elizabeth Street, Erickson Beamon's flagship boutique is a place where clients have their fantasy realized in jewels.
Coinciding with the company's 20th anniversary in 2003, Erickson Beamon unveiled its first diamond collection. This new venture offers the signature Erickson Beamon look, translated in clear diamonds and 18K white gold. To celebrate the diamond debut, Barneys held an equally luminescent affair during New York Fashion Week in September 2003. The event featured a retrospective of Erickson Beamon's 20 years, curated for the window of Barneys by Simon Doonan. Since then, the retrospective has since traveled as far afield as Hong Kong's Lane Crawford.
Erickson Beamon introduced a chandelier collection in 2004, and an eyewear license in 2007. The brand is also proud to announce their partnership with the retailer Target. erickson Beamon for Target hit stores on February 15th, 2009, for a limited time only.
