Carol and Sarah Piron were among the first to seize upon and translate the neo 90s through hybridizations of style(s). At Filles a PAPA, the lumberjack's shirt is often close to a fully sequined dress, more "glunge" than grunge. Denim is inflamed with patches, sequins and slogans. Male-inspired tailoring becomes sexy, pink is not only girly (thankfully!) and black never sad. Filles a PAPA plays on paradoxes, the humor and the assertion of a candid femininity.
Filles à PAPA. A Belgian brand whose name alone contains a fair few paradoxes and accepts them with a smile. A style, a humor, an attitude, a way of being where you least expect.
In creating their brand in 2010, Carol and Sarah Piron can only follow their instincts. Because the sisters are anything but "daddy’s girls". Neither idle heiresses nor adherents of BCBGisme, they imagine the fashion they miss, reflecting their lives as young adults and the fortuitous or organized meetings that make their days and nights. The hyper realism of the streets, the energy of the clubs, the sometimes improbable mix of literature and hard rock, like a road with uncountable junctions, a landscape marked by chaos.
In ten years, Carol and Sarah Piron have made FIlles a Papa a reference in contemporary streetwear. Sisters and women, their aesthetical ‘speaking out’ and their wardrobe has seduced some of the most prestigious retailers around the world and many celebrities who remain faithful season after season.
