Accentuating the female form is nothing less than a labor of love for couture designer Georges Hobeika. For over 20 years, his passion and inborn talent have combined to envision masterpieces that exude femininity and sensuality with a creative touch that is all his own. From inspiration to creation, every Hobeika design is the quintessential expression of a woman’s inner beauty and seductive nature perfectly balanced with virtuous grace.
The son of a seamstress, Georges Hobeika discovered his love for fashion design as he fulfilled his mother’s requests to assist her in servicing her growing clientele. While his study of civil engineering had proved invaluable for the sketch work, it was Georges Hobeika’s imagination and raw embroidering talent that won the hearts of his mother’s younger clients and beckoned his future in couture creation. Intrigued by fabrics and the thrill of creating his own designs, he took on an increasingly proactive role in the business and decided to travel to the heart of haute couture to pursue a career in fashion design more seriously.
Georges Hobeika opened the doors of his atelier in 1995 and began working diligently on his couture label, with the help of his mother and a few skilled workers. After he conducted his first fashion show in Beirut in 1996, his reputation for creating exquisite evening gowns and wedding dresses with the finest handiwork grew quickly throughout the Middle East. To support the atelier’s increasing client base, it soon employed over 100 skilled workers and comprised various specialized workshops to meet the demand for Georges Hobeika designs.
By 2001, Georges Hobeika and his team were prepared for their first international fashion show which was held at the Hotel K in Paris. Every year since, the atelier has presented its creations on the biannual Paris Fashion Week runways to the applause of fashion lovers seeking pure creation and brave originality.
In the world of celebrity, fashionistas such as Diane Kruger, Hilary Swank, Rihanna and Selena Gomez have embraced his collections. Georges Hobeika’s creations have also been worn by Ashley Judd, Holly Hunter and Vanessa Hudgens among many others.
